About Us

Who We Are

Founded in 2019, Society Developmental Organization and Aid Initiative (SDO AID INITIATIVE) is a registered non-religious, not for-profit, non-political non-governmental organization (NGO) that originated from the Northeast of Nigeria because of the protracted insurgency in the region.
Our focus pillar is centred towards Humanitarian Support and Intervention, Sustainable Development, Advocacy and Social Accountability. Social and Environmental responsibility is a core part of our purpose and values and that is why our commitment to the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals is embedded in everything we do.
We also seek to nurture and develop communities that are resilient, resourceful, independent and educated ,to reduce poverty and Sexual/Gender Based Violence among women, boys and girls. We work to meet the urgent needs of people whose lives are jeopardized because of conflict, disaster, or displacement. Our multifaceted programs integrate protection, lifesaving health care, food & nutrition assistance and livelihoods support to people affected by crises.
SDO INITIATIVE provides vulnerable individuals and marginalized communities with resources to amplify their voices with independence and integrity while providing the communities with social, economic, and environmental progress. The organization has zero tolerance to sexual exploitation and abuse when serving all persons of concern. SDO Aid Initiative puts diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) at the centre of all its affairs.
We are a network of Humanitarians, Developmentalists, Human Rights Activists, Legal Practitioners, UN SDG Advocates, Volunteers, Youth/Community Champions and Mobilizers and Philanthropists all driven the by the spirit of volunteerism and humanitarian principles approach.

We envision a world where all people forced to flee are protected and have access to basic needs of life and rights.

Mission

To save lives, protect rights, improve, and empower the wellbeing condition of the forcibly displaced communities and people through the provision and enhancement of integrated and sustainable service delivery.

Where We Are

We operate in IDP camps and Urban arears of Maiduguri and JERE LGAs. We also operate in deep field locations of Bama, Banki, Damboa, Damasak, Ngala, Monguno, Dikwa, Gwoza, Pulka and Konduga.
